These terms apply when you use TextToSpeech.tools (the "site"), with or without an account. By using the site you accept them. Questions go to [email protected].
The free service
The editor, the voices and the MP3, WAV and subtitle downloads are free and need no account. Speech is generated inside your browser; the text you type is not sent to us.
Accounts
You sign in with an email address and a one-time code. One account per person. You are responsible for the email address you use. You can delete your account at any time from the account page. If you buy Plus without signing in, the account is created for the email you enter at checkout.
Plus
Plus costs $8.99 per month, or $39 once for lifetime access. The amount shown is the amount charged; any tax is included. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
Monthly renews automatically at the end of each month and the card on file is charged until you cancel. You can cancel from the account page at any time; Plus then stays on until the end of the month you already paid for. If a payment fails, Stripe retries it for a while; when the retries run out the subscription ends.
Lifetime is a single payment and never renews. It keeps Plus on your account for as long as the site offers Plus. If we stop offering Plus, we email you at least 30 days before.
Refunds follow the refund policy. If we change the monthly price, the new price applies from your next renewal and we email you at least 14 days before it.
The audio you make
You own the audio and subtitle files you generate from your own text, and you may use them for any lawful purpose, including commercial work. You must have the rights to the text you convert. Do not use the site to impersonate a real person or to deceive listeners about who is speaking.
Fair use of the site
Do not overload or scrape the site, and do not try to get around sign-in or payment. We may suspend an account that does, and refund any unused time.
No warranty, limited liability
The site is provided as it is. Voices can mispronounce words, and browsers differ in what they support; check the audio before you publish it. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change affects paying users, we email them before it takes effect.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA. Consumer protections that apply where you live are not affected.
